Quince Cake Recipes. Put dough into the pan and smooth it out spread quince into dough and top with almonds. Preheat the oven to 190C top and bottom heat. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes then invert onto a larger dish.
When the cake comes out of the oven let cool for 5 minutes. Poach quince in white wine. In a saucepan stir quince with 2 tablespoons sugar and white wine to mix well.
Pour the batter over the quince and bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean approximately one hour. Put the quinces in a pot adding 50g sugar and then cover with water until almost covered. Bake in preheated oven at 200C approximately 400F for.
Wash dry peel and core the quinces and then cut into about 2 cm cubes. Using a serrated knife cut cake into 3 layers and brush away any loose crumbs. Beat cream and confectioners sugar until medium peaks form.
In a 3-quart heavy saucepan bring quince water sugar honey lemon juice and cinnamon to a boil. Prepare a 30 cm long loaf tin by greasing with butter and dusting with flour. When youre ready to serve the cake drizzle with the remaining reheated caramel sauce.
Stand the cake in its tin on a wire rack to cool for a few minutes then release the tin. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean. Drain in a colander and set aside to cool.
