In a saucepan over medium heat melt the butter.

To serve gravy over chicken sprinkle 4 skinned and boned chicken breast halves with 14 teaspoon salt and 14 teaspoon pepper. Cook over medium heat whisking constantly 2 minutes or until mixture thickens. Whisk in the chicken broth and stir until there are no more lumps and the gravy is smooth.
Cook for one minute.
